POKOTABI / Magokoro
真心
In Pontocho, Magokoro serves small plates featuring Kyoto vegetables such as Manganji peppers, alongside fish dishes. Take your time over dinner with a selection of plates and a beer.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
One of Magokoro’s draws is its Kyoto vegetables, including Manganji peppers. Some diners have noted the care taken with each dish. It’s a good fit for a relaxed dinner of small plates, with local vegetables to choose from.
Some visitors have also come for the fish dishes. The menu information lists hamo (pike conger) in summer, making Magokoro an option for a seasonal fish meal. As this information may change, check what’s available before your visit.
Beer and other alcoholic drinks are available, so you can shape the meal at your own pace. Magokoro is on Nabeya-cho, north of Shijo on Pontocho-dori; reservations are accepted. Payment is cash only.
